Where We Are

Tindari and Marinello

In the hamlet of Patti, the Basilica Sanctuary of Maria Santissima di Tindari stands on top of a hill overlooking the Marinello lakes and is dedicated to the worship of the Black Madonna of Tindari: legend has it that the sculpture, transported by sea, prevented the ship from leaving after it had taken refuge in the bay of the Tindari lakes to escape the storm. And here it remained.
At the foot of the promontory where the Sanctuary of Tindari stands are the Marinello Lakes, an exceptionally beautiful stretch of sea. It is a vast area of sand with brackish water lakes that change constantly due to the tides. The flora of the area is characterized by a remarkable variety of species that are best suited to the different environments: coastal sands, brackish lakes, and cliffs. The coastal sands are environments characterized by significant temperature variations between day and night and high concentrations of salt. Among the most common species are wild wallflower, sea rocket, horned poppy, sea lily, St. Peter's sea holly, beach grass, sea medick, and beach brome.

Patti and Mongiove

It is a lively town on the Tyrrhenian coast, overlooking the innermost part of the gulf of the same name, and stretches along the sea to Marina di Patti, where the remains of a Roman villa were recently discovered. Founded in 1094 by Count Roger I, elevated to a bishopric by King Roger II in 1131, and named a royal city by Frederick III of Aragon in 1312, Patti received the title of “magnanimous” from Charles V for having paid a generous tribute to the crown. The historic center of the city still retains part of its medieval fabric of narrow streets, surmounted by arches, grouped around the Cathedral. The Cathedral, whose current structure dates back to the 18th century, has a beautiful Norman portal reassembled on the main façade.
Imagine finding yourself in an enchanted land: around you, the blue of the Tyrrhenian Sea stretches as far as the eye can see and the sky blends into the sea... Mongiove is located in a cove surrounded by green hills that give it a pleasant and breezy climate. The seaside resort is characterized by wide sandy beaches with medium-depth seabeds that facilitate fishing, both trolling and from the shore, which is particularly flourishing.
